Fresh disclosures and idempotency

Each disclosure is an immutable snapshot. If a receiving account, payment configuration, or accepted agreement changes, create a new disclosure to capture the information available at that time. The earlier disclosure remains unchanged.

Provide exactly one nonempty Idempotency-Key when creating a disclosure. Retry the same request with the same key after a network error to obtain the existing disclosure instead of creating another. A pending or generating replay returns 202; a ready or failed replay returns 200. Reusing a key with different request details can return 409. Keys are scoped to the account and mode and retained for the lifetime of the disclosure.

For example, use key snapshot-2026-10-a for the original request and its retries. After updating the receiving account, use a new unique key such as snapshot-2026-10-b with a new create request. Store the new disclosure ID separately. See the quickstart for a request example.
