Payment

The Payment object represents a single attempt to move money into your account. Checkout confirmation is the most common way to create Payment.

  • Unique identifier for the transaction

  • Unix timestamp when payment was created

  • Amount charged in smallest currency unit

  • Three-letter ISO currency code

  • The status of the payment is either succeeded, pending, or failed.

  • Metadata attached to the Payment. For Payments created from a Payment Intent or Checkout Session, this starts as the initial metadata snapshot copied at Payment creation time.

  • Balance transactions represent funds moving through your account.

  • Human-readable amount in the currency's standard unit format. This represents the actual monetary value that would be displayed to end users (e.g., "20.00" for $20.00 USD, "2000" for ¥2000 JPY, "2000" for 2000 HUF). Use this for display purposes; use the 'amount' field for calculations and API requests.

  • Amount in cents (or local equivalent) captured (can be less than the amount attribute on the payment if a partial capture was made).

  • Amount in cents (or local equivalent) refunded (can be less than the amount attribute on the payment if a partial refund was issued).

  • Latest status of the payment

  • If the payment was created without capturing, this Boolean represents whether it is still uncaptured or has since been captured.

  • When the transaction was last updated

  • Details about whether the payment was accepted, and why.

  • Failure code, only set if status is failed.

  • Detailed failure message, only set if status is failed.

  • true if the charge succeeded, or was successfully authorized for later capture.

  • Payment method used

  • Details about the payment method at the time of the payment.

    Properties: 1
  • ID of the customer this charge is for if one exists.

    • ID of the customer this charge is for if one exists.

  • ID of the PaymentIntent associated with this charge, if one exists.

    • ID of the PaymentIntent associated with this charge, if one exists.

  • ID of the checkout that created this transaction

  • Account ID

  • Details about the account that is holding the funds.

  • Merchant account ID

  • The most recent operation performed on this payment.

  • Whether the charge has been fully refunded. If the charge is only partially refunded, this attribute will still be false.

  • Whether the charge has been disputed.

  • Information on fraud assessments for the payment.

  • A unique string to reference the Checkout Session. This can be a customer ID, a cart ID, or similar, and can be used to reconcile the Session with your internal systems.

  • For a non-card payment, text that appears on the customer's statement as the statement descriptor. This value overrides the account's default statement descriptor.

  • Fees (in cents) paid for this transaction. Represented as a positive integer when assessed.

  • Detailed breakdown of fees (in cents (or local equivalent)) paid for this transaction.

  • Has the value true if the object exists in live mode or the value false if the object exists in test mode.
